Paint

The mouse is throwing paint against the wall but no one notices.*

* It’s Mickey Mouse and he is on the cover of an unopened game box. (Banksy would like it.) “Epic”, the box says. Epic waiting period until I get around to playing it, me thinks.

App

The app crashed. *

* …

Powder

I carefully shook the baking soda through the narrow opening and made a beautiful smooth surface of brilliant white cleanliness. *

* The powder started to do its job.  It slowly absorbed the liquid beneath and the brilliant white cleanliness became a soiled color as the non-solid remainder of the cat puke was pulled up and away from the carpet.**

** Hey, at least I didn’t post a picture! Although I did my best to paint one with words.

Bubbles

The bubbles struggled upward only to crash against the top of the huge container that blocked their escape.  *

* My son was replacing the water bottle on the dispenser.  My daughter held the stand so he could aim the huge bottle of water at the stand with confidence the stand wouldn’t jump out of the way as he tilted the monstrous jug on its head.  He took aim and heaved the bottle on to the stand whereupon the bubbles began their futile attempt at escape.  They cried out, gurgling their last breathe.   But there was no escape.  There was only … oblivion.  And the echo of that awesome gurgling sound.

Salmon

We watched several male salmon fight over the one female that was ready to spawn. *

DSC02064

* It seemed eerily reminiscent of the stories I had read about bankers and foreclosures.

Teddy

I watched as the Teddy Bear tumbled slowly but inexorably down the steps.*

* The dog likes to grab the bear in its mouth momentarily as it passes it on its way downstairs each morning.  The momentum of the bear, as it tumbled past one step and then another, threatening to pause, but then carrying on, like a Halo 3 soldier clutched in the physics of the game, carried on until finally it landed on the final step, on its back, looking upward in silent rage.

River Otter

RiverOtter02

The river otter swam toward me.  He was so cute!*

*A moment later he stared me down and then opened his mouth and bared his teeth reminiscent of a bear that wanted me as a tasty snack.  He made a horrifying hissing sound that sent me reeling back.  So cute!
